The New Administrative Capital Water Lines

Project Overview:

This project establishes the permanent water supply system for the New Administrative Capital. It involves the construction of an intake and turbid water lines from the Nile River to the capital, with a total capacity of 1.5 million cubic meters per day. This system will be the primary water source for the 170,000-acre capital, drawing water from the Nile south of Helwan near the regional ring road. The project value is approximately 17.7 billion pounds, with five contracting companies involved, including Petrojet and Concord for Engineering and Contracting.

Key Components:

The project consists of the following key components:

  • Intake works for turbid water and a Lift Station No. 1 with a capacity of 1.5 million cubic meters per day.
  • Implementation of three expulsion lines with a diameter of 2200 mm, totaling 144 km in length.
  • Three additional lifting stations.
  • A lifting tank station with a capacity of 800,000 cubic meters per day.
  • Implementation of the first phase of the purification station, with a capacity of 400,000 cubic meters per day.

ECPC’s Scope of Work:

ECPC is the main supplier of prestressed concrete pipes (PCCP) for this project. We are collaborating with:

  • Petrojet: Supplying PCCP from Lift Station 5 to the purification station.
  • Concord for Engineering and Contracting: Supplying PCCP from Lift Station 3 and the lines from Lift Station 2 to Lift Station 4.

ECPC will provide a total of 29,000 meters of large-diameter (2,200 mm/24 bars) PCCP pipes, with the potential to increase production to 32,000 meters to meet project needs.
